Tour Overview

Mikumi National Park, Tanzania's fourth-largest park, spans 3,230 square kilometers and is the most easily accessible from Dar es Salaam. Nestled between the Uluguru Mountains to the north and the Lumango Mountains to the southeast, it is home to a wide range of wildlife, including buffalo, giraffes, elephants, lions, pythons, zebras, leopards, and crocodiles, among others. On this tour, you will have the chance to see the Big Four.

Itinerary

Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

You will be picked up from the airport, ferry, or hotel and drive directly to Mikumi National Par. You'll stop at Morogoro for lunch and then continue the journey to Mikumi National Park. It takes almost 6 hours to Mikumi National Park. After arrival at Mikumi National Park, you will rest at the hotel for a few hours then you'll go to visit a Masai boma for 2 hours. You will be back at the hotel. You will have dinner and an overnight stay at Camp Bastian Mikumi.

Day 2: Game Drives in Mikumi National Park

After breakfast, you will start on a full-day game drive to spot animals in Mikumi National Park. One of Mikumi's features is that it's stretched across a big plain, so you can spot a lot of animals. Mikumi National Park hosts animals like lions, elephants, buffalos, impalas, zebras, and many others. You will enjoy your lunch at the picnic campsites in Mikumi National Park. In the evening, you'll head to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay at Camp Bastian Mikumi.

Day 3: Mikumi to Dar es Salaam

You'll have an early morning breakfast. Afterward, you'll drive back to Dar es Salaam via Morogoro town. On arrival in Dar es Salaam, you will be dropped at the ferry for the second or last ferry to Zanzibar, or we can drop you off at the airport or hotel.
